The Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has recently issued Directive No. 06 on February 15 urging the implementation of key tasks after the Lunar New Year Tet holiday in 2024.
In this Directive, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the management agencies to review Decree 24 and develop a market management solution for the first quarter to adapt to the new situation.
Earlier on December 28, the Prime Minister issued a directive to the State Bank to closely monitor the gold price fluctuations both globally and domestically to promptly implement the required measures to stabilize the gold market. The State Bank immediately affirmed its commitment to continue monitoring the situation and be ready to intervene to stabilize the gold market.
Directive 06 highlights the challenging global and domestic economic situation, which continues to be complex and unpredictable, putting significant pressure on the economic development tasks, especially in the early months of 2024.
The Prime Minister instructed all relevant ministries, agencies, localities, organizations, and individuals to focus on work immediately after the Tet holiday to avoid delays affecting production, business, and socio-economic activities.
The head of the government requested the State Bank to manage credit growth in 2024 at around 15% to meet the economic capital needs. The State Bank was also instructed to continue guiding banks to simplify procedures, facilitate business funding, reduce loan interest rates, and curb black credit activities.
The Ministry of Finance was tasked with tightly managing revenue sources, aggressively saving costs, especially on non-urgent expenditures. Alongside with the State Bank and the Ministry of Planning & Investment, the Ministry of Finance will address any obstacles to meet the criteria for upgrading the stock market rank from frontier to emerging markets, reporting to the Prime Minister before June 30.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade was assigned to monitor international cargo transportation through the Red River, propose solutions to reduce transportation costs, prevent export disruptions, and avoid shortages, especially of petroleum products, to ensure market stability.
