Many customers have recently developed a habit of buying gold 1 to 2 days before the 10th lunar day. According to observations by Dan Tri reporters, many gold shops have been bustling with customers in the days leading up to the God of Wealth’s day.

Two days before, at some large stores in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, there were quite a few customers waiting to buy gold.

Employees at a store on “gold street” Tran Nhan Tong in Hanoi said that the number of customers started to increase from 2-3 days before the God of Wealth’s day. Because the God of Wealth’s day falls on the first day of the week, many people also take advantage of Saturdays and Sundays to go shopping.

Close to the God of Wealth’s day, there are times when gold prices for plain rings set new highs of 65-66 million dong/tael and were higher than the world by up to 6 million dong. This is also the most traded item on the God of Wealth’s day, according to a deputy director of a gold company based in Hanoi.

The tradition of buying gold for good luck has also been embraced by many young people. Instead of choosing high-value products such as pressed gold sheets, gold paintings, solid gold statues, etc., many have opted for reasonably priced gold jewelry, charms to fulfill their goal of seeking prosperity at the beginning of the year. Gold shops have also prepared many suitable products for young people.

Usually, at some crowded shops, buyers have to fill out forms, take a queue number to wait for their turn even before the God of Wealth’s day arrives.

Gold prices also tend to fluctuate significantly on the God of Wealth’s day. Normally, when prices fluctuate rapidly or trading is volatile, gold companies will widen the trading range to minimize risks.
