Khách ăn hết bát bún nặng 2,2kg tại quán ở TPHCM nhận thưởng 30 triệu đồng

Starting from August 2022, a jellyfish noodle restaurant in District 6, Ho Chi Minh City has implemented the program “finish the bowl of jellyfish noodles, receive instant cash reward”.

Specifically, if customers participate in the challenge and finish a bowl of jellyfish noodles weighing 2.2kg within 40 minutes, they will receive a reward of 1.3 million VND. If they finish 2 bowls with the same time, they will receive 30 million VND.

The giant meal includes 1kg of fresh noodles, 1.2kg of 6 side dishes including fish cakes, flatfish, jellyfish, bones, ocean skipjack tuna eggs, and ocean skipjack tuna stomach. Each type weighs about 2 ounces. Not to mention the bowl of noodles also comes with a serving of broth.

According to Mr. Minh Tien, the store manager, any customer who wants to participate in the challenge must sign a commitment paper. Registering for the first challenge, if they lose, they must pay the restaurant 300,000 VND. And for the second challenge, if they don’t finish, the restaurant will receive 1 million VND as the penalty.

Throughout the challenge, players must sit alone and cannot use the restroom. If they vomit while eating, they will be considered as losing. After finishing, customers sit and rest for about 10 minutes to monitor their health.

“We do not sell giant meals casually. Only customers who register to participate will be served. Before starting, I always remind customers to be cautious and pay attention to their health. If they feel unwell, they should stop to ensure safety,” Mr. Tien said.

According to the manager, since implementing this special challenge, the restaurant has attracted many young customers to experience. They are open from 6 am to 2 am, selling about 1,000 bowls on average per day with a service team of 10 to 15 staff serving continuously.

After a year of testing, the winning rate is only about 10%. And recently, a customer named Mai became the first person to receive the 30 million VND reward for completing the challenge.

“This customer registered over the phone and finished eating 2 bowls in 78 minutes, just 2 minutes over the regulations. We were also surprised because we didn’t expect a young girl to have such a good appetite,” Mr. Tien shared.

For customers who just come to eat normally, the restaurant still serves dishes like fish cake noodles, xí quách noodles, or a complete bowl, with prices ranging from 33,000 VND to 57,000 VND on average.
