Originally a fashion designer, with a love for beauty and excellent aesthetic sense, Mrs. Thuy chose to plant climbing flowers to make the house more romantic.

The house was built in 2012, located at a corner adjoining 2 streets, exposed to sunlight, wind, and dust all year round. This inspired Mrs. Thu to “bring nature home.” Moreover, for Mrs. Thuy, the house is like a lung, it is closely linked to every breath, the rhythm of life of the family. Therefore, she decided to “cool” it with climbing flowers.
“In 2013, I planted more than ten types of climbing flowers around the house: climbing roses, geraniums, morning glories, cosmos, apricot blossoms, morning glory, morning glories,…But the most colorful species of flowers are the climbing roses. The vine, after about 3 years, has covered the roof of the house, forming a dense carpet of flowers. In front of the house, I planted a row of rose bushes. Everyone passing by has to admire a green house full of flowers and leaves,” shared Mrs. Thuy.
In 2021, she designed a rooftop garden as a place to grow flowers and vegetables. On the 5th floor, she planted a vegetable garden with: queens’ pears, apples, Japanese citruses, queens’ soursops, Thai lemons, and oranges…The green vegetables were planted according to the season. Therefore, the vegetable garden always looks lush, growing very well. Since designing the balcony for planting vegetables, this is the place that supplies vegetables for the family’s kitchen.
On the 4th-floor rooftop, Mrs. Thuy planted a garden full of various flowers, displaying vibrant colors. She also designed a relaxing seating area for reading, enjoying tea, which looks very romantic. She covered the area with transparent plastic roofing to provide shade from the sun and rain. Even on rainy days, one can sit and enjoy the flowers, and tea comfortably.
