During the event “Giao lưu và kết nối cộng đồng Solve for Tomorrow (SFT)” organized by Samsung Vietnam on February 24-25, participants from seasons 2019 to 2023 shared their personal transformations after joining the competition.
The students from team C3T3, who won first place in SFT 2019, expressed how the competition helped them become more confident and open in communication. They no longer fear research and are enthusiastic about science, ready to connect with peers to create meaningful projects for the community.
One team member, Lê Nguyễn Yến Nhi, shared how she went from being shy and reserved to confident and outgoing after participating in the competition. She mentioned that without SFT, she would not have believed in her ability to contribute to practical technology projects. She emphasized that the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition paved the way for them to explore the world of technology.
The students’ teacher, Ngô Song Đào, expressed how each team member had grown significantly in terms of knowledge and confidence over the 5 years since winning first place in SFT 2019.
Moreover, other participants like Thầy Nguyễn Khánh and Lê Tuấn Tú from team Blue Dreams shared their excitement about their project being implemented in real life at the HOPE library in Đà Nẵng. They highlighted how SFT had enhanced their technological creativity and skills.
Participants Nguyễn Thị Yến Thư and Dương Hoàng Khang from the team Robo Kat also shared their positive experiences of increased confidence, improved soft skills, and a deeper interest in technology due to their participation in SFT.
Teachers and mentors also expressed their hopes for continued collaboration and innovation among the youth participants, with Samsung Vietnam emphasizing the importance of developing tech talents for the country’s future.
Overall, Solve for Tomorrow is a global competition initiated by Samsung in 2010 to promote STEM education and empower students to use technology to solve community issues. In Vietnam, the program has attracted over 300,000 students and teachers with nearly 5,200 submissions over the past 5 years.
