On the afternoon of February 27, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended the Launching Ceremony of the Campaign to create songs about the National Assembly and People’s Councils, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the first General Election Day to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly.
At the Launching Ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, along with delegates, officially kicked off the Campaign to create songs about the National Assembly and People’s Councils.
According to Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the first General Election Day to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly is a significant political event to review the history, development, and achievements of the Vietnamese National Assembly.
To vividly depict and bring the image of the elected authorities closer to the people, the Office of the National Assembly, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Vietnam Musicians’ Association, and the Hanoi Musicians’ Association organized the Campaign to create songs about the National Assembly and People’s Councils.
In his speech, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly highlighted the importance of creating songs about the elected bodies, emphasizing that these songs have become familiar melodies that inspire and boost the fighting spirit of our army and people.
He emphasized that the Campaign to create songs about the National Assembly and People’s Councils this year aims to attract a wide range of professional and non-professional musicians to showcase their talent and creativity, creating music pieces of high value in terms of ideological content and artistic quality, depicting the stature, mechanism, position, and prestige of the Vietnamese nation, as well as the historical role of the elected bodies.
The Vice Chairman mentioned that although creating songs about the elected bodies is a challenging topic, the Organizing Committee trusts that the significant achievements and the wave of innovation in the activities of the National Assembly and People’s Councils, along with the expectations of the people, will provide abundant material to inspire musicians to create high-quality and artistic songs about the National Assembly and People’s Councils.
Prior to the Launching Ceremony, the Secretary-General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office, Bui Van Cuong, announced a Resolution on the establishment of the Organizing Committee for the Campaign to create songs about the National Assembly and People’s Councils, with Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong as the Committee’s Head.
According to the regulations, based on the judging results of the Judging Council, the Organizing Committee will award: 1 Special Prize worth 500 million VND; 3 First Prizes, each worth 150 million VND; 5 Second Prizes, each worth 100 million VND; 9 Third Prizes, each worth 50 million VND; and 15 Encouragement Prizes, each worth 20 million VND.
Additionally, there will be a Prize for an impressive song about the National Assembly and People’s Councils worth 30 million VND, and a Prize for a song that spreads inspiration on the theme of the 80th anniversary of the first General Election Day to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly worth 30 million VND.
The music pieces participating in the Campaign will focus on reflecting certain historical events, the organization and activities of the National Assembly; the activities of the National Assembly bodies, the bodies under the Standing Committee of the National Assembly; the election of National Assembly and People’s Council delegates of all levels.
The works will also praise the significant achievements of the National Assembly in nearly 80 years; the dynamic, creative, and continuously innovative image of the Vietnamese National Assembly; political awareness, will, aspirations, trust, and solidarity of people in supporting and participating in the policies of the National Assembly.
The deadline for submitting entries is 5:00 PM on December 10 (entries sent by mail will be based on the postmark). The Award Ceremony and Gala to introduce the winning songs are scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.
